Surf Day for the Visually Impaired

The San Diego Surf Academy

Every year we host guests from the San Diego Blind Recreation Center (serves the entire county) for a day of surf, food and fun.  We expect 40-50 people from the Blind Centers. 

We need community and other Lion Clubs to help:

• assist our guests in riding the waves (the surf club always can use a few more surfers and body boarders)

• walk along the beach with our guests  

• extra hands to help cook and serve a picnic lunch 

• have a really good time
  
  Location:South Ponto Beach in Carlsbad
  Take Hwy 5 to Encinitas Blvd, head west towards the beach.
  Parking is off D Street
  Day: September 23, 2007
  Time:  8am setup;  9am-11am surfing; 11-2 lunch, beach time, clean-up

Time: 8am - 10am breakfast
Donation: $5 per person
Parking is off of D Street.

Location: Encinitas, 659 Shanas Lane at Garden View
Directions: From El Camino Real go east on Garden View (at SD County Credit Union) go to the first street on the right. The rummage sale will be on the corner.

Time: 7am - 12noon
